PURPOSE:To obtain the subject composition containing a 2-nitro-5-(substituted phenoxy)benzohydroxamic acid derivative and 1,3-dimethyl-4-(2,4-dichloro-3- methylbenzoyl)-5-(4-methylphenacyloxy)pyrazole. CONSTITUTION:A herbicidal composition for paddy field in the ford of granule, emulsion, wettable powder, flowable, etc., is produced by using a compound expressed by formula I (R is lower alkyl) and a compound expressed by formula II at 1:(1-100) weight ratio. The aforementioned composition is capable of exhibiting high weeding effects on a wide range of weeds such as barnyard grass, monochoria, false pimpernel, bulrush, Japanese ribbon wapato or water nutgrass in a small amount of chemical which cannot be considered from each compound alone without exerting phytotoxicity on paddy rice at all. The period of use is most effectively before emergence of the weeds to the starting period thereof (7 days before the transplantation to about 3 days thereafter). Since the trace amount of the active ingredient to be thrown is sufficient, safety for environment and farmers is high. |
