<p>Conducting, (un)alloyed weld material, e.g. rod is fused at constant controlled rate simultaneously with a pulverulent additive, the feed rate of weld material and additive being maintaine dconstant, while a small but variable quantity of carbon vehicle is supplied, according to the carbon content desired in the final deposit. Large stocks of rod of variable compsn. are not necessary, since only the weld material, powdered additive and carbon vehicle need to be stored at the welding location.</p> |
