<p>PURPOSE:To omit a troublesome operation and to promote the operability by advising the user of the state as to whether is appropriate or not to record a signal prior to starting the recording. CONSTITUTION:When a cassette 2 is inserted, a video tape 1 to be supplied to a tape traveling system from a supply reel 3 is traveled to be taken up to the side of a take-up reel 4 by obtaining a stable traveling course. At this time, a video head 12 and an audio/control head 17 are brought into contact with the video tape 1 to record and reproduce a video signal, an audio signal and a control signal. Then, in a signal processing function, a drop-out detecting output signal S1 from a regenerative video signal, an audio output signal S2 from a regenerative audio signal and a hysteresis output signal S3 from a regenerative control signal are obtained. Then, the signal S1 or S3 is processed, and based on this processed result, whether the signal recording state is normal or not is decided, and a decided result is informed to the outside. By this method, the state of whether a signal recording function is appropriate or not is advised in advance to the user, and hence a misrecording is eliminated.</p> |
