Burnout electrodes or other devices are normally used to produce demetallized selvages on metallized plastic foil for wound capacitors. These have then to be slit in the centre of the demetallized zones. Accurate slitting of very narrow (0.3 mm) selvages can be achieved if demetallizing and slitting devices are combined adjustably but in rigid relation to each othe in one machine.
