1,273,510. Endless conveyer for easily damagable articles. A. DOMINICI. 17 Feb., 1970 [18 Feb., 1969], No. 7630/70. Heading B8A. In a conveyer for the distribution of the output of a station in a production line to units of a subsequent station comprising a plurality of trays 11 interconnected in an end to end relationship, means to impart to the interconnected trays a continuous motion, means, when the trays are positioned correspondingly to the feeders, to tilt the trays toward the feeders in order to discharge their load upon the latter, and means to restore said trays to their untilted condition, the load-carrying surface of each tray is formed by endless belt means 17 which moves during the tilting of a tray. The means to tilt the trays towards the feeder 20 comprises flaps 21 pivotally mounted at 23 so as to be movable to the broken-line position. These co-operate with followers 18 on the trays. The latter returns to a normal position by means of fixed guides 24 via upwardly movable flaps 24. The endless belt 17 is moved during the tilting of a tray by lowering a rack 25 into engagement with a gear 16. The trays unload on selected conveyers 20 but all the trays unload on the last conveyer 20 downstream. |
