[Also in Division C3] Corrodible metal surfaces, e.g. of steel, are coated with a composition comprising a resinous binder (I) and a filler which is a mixture of conductive particles of a metal (ii) which is more anodic than the substrate and a comminuted refractive ferro alloy (III). Examples of I are epoxy resin, hydrolysed ethyl silicate and chlorinated rubber. Preferred II is Zn. III may be ferrophosphorus, ferrosilicon, ferromanganese or iron carbide.</p> |
