PRODUCTION OF POLYPHENYLENE SULFIDE FIBER OR FIBROUS MOLDED MATERIAL HAVING METALLIC LAYER ON SURFACE

摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain the subject fiber forming a metallic layer having excellent adhesiveness without losing physical properties of the fiber by subjecting a specific polyphenylene sulfide fiber or fiber-formed material to a low temperature plasma treatment and subjecting to electroless plating. CONSTITUTION:A polyphenylene sulfide polymer composed of a repeating units of p-phenylene sulfide is spun to form a polyphenylene sulfide fiber or fiber- formed material and washed with acetone to make acetone-extracting component to be <=0.5wt.%. Then, resultant fiber is subjected to a low temperature plasma treatment and subjected to electroless plating to afford a polyphenylene sulfide fiber forming a metallic layer having excellent adhesiveness on the fiber surface.
