PURPOSE:To prevent the unsatisfactory state on the action of a vehicular internal combustion engine at the low atmospheric temperature by heating combustion air on the basis of the temperature of combustion air to be fed into a combustion chamber before supplying it into the combustion chamber. CONSTITUTION:When the air temperature around an intake manifold 6 communicated with a combustion chamber is detected to be lower than the preset specified temperature by a temperature measuring device 10 at the startup time of an engine 5, a control device 11 emits a control signal on the basis of this detection signal. With this control signal, a change-over valve 2 is switched in such a way as to connect passages 9, 4 to each other. Combustion air A is thereby heated by a heat accumulating device 8 after passing through a filter 1, and then supplied into the combustion chamber of the engine 5 from the intake manifold 6 through the passages 9, 4. Accordingly, even if cold start is performed in the state of the atmospheric temperature being low, the rate-of- vaporization of fuel is not much lowered, and thus the unsatisfactory state on the action of the engine 5 is prevented. |
