<p>PURPOSE:To easily obtain transmittable distance in respect of miscellaneous terminals by attenuating a signal transmitted from a signal input part to a signal output part by a data base part based on information related to a used cable, and calculating the transmittable distance in the case that a twist pair cable is substituted. CONSTITUTION:A transmittable distance measuring instrument is constituted of the signal input part 11, the signal output part 12, the data base part 13 and a display part 14. At the time of measuring the transmittable distance, the information related to the transmission characteristic of the used cable 3 and the information related to the balun 5 are inputted from a data input part, and the signal is taken in from the signal input part 11, and attenuation is increased or decreased successively by an attenuating part 25 provided with an attenuation switching function under the control of a control part 24, and the signal is detected by a signal detecting part 26. By comparison with a result calculated by an arithmetic part 23 based on the information stored in a memory part 22 by a comparing part 27, an optimum value in the case that the twist pair cable 4 is substituted is obtained, and is outputted to the display part 14 from a data output part 28, and the transmittable distance is displayed.</p> |
