The invention relates to a drive unit, particularly for motor vehicles.
<??>The unit includes at least one clutch 26, 27 whch can be actuated through the use of an operating member with a view to transmitting torque, as well as a transmission with cone pulleys 1, 2 arranged in series with the clutch, adjustable gradually and including two pairs of cone pulleys which can be operated with mutual coordination - one pair located on the driving side and one pair located on the driven side - each pair including an operating member 9, 11 urged by pressurised fluid by keans of a torque sensor, such as a piston/cylinder unit, for clamping the winding member, and modifying the transmission ratio, controlled by pressurised fluid.
