摘要 PURPOSE:To enable a vertical probe method to be easily applied to and achieve a rapid and easy discrimination by emitting ultrasonic pulses in a main rolling direction of a material and in a direction crossing it and by detecting sound speed in the direction of reflection simultaneously. CONSTITUTION:A detection means 1 transmits ultrasonic pulses in a main rolling direction of a material and in a direction crossing it and then simultaneously detects sound speed in the direction of reflection with one scanning. A data input means 2 inputs this data into an operation processing means 4. The means 4 obtains both or either of sound speed ratio and STB sound ratio and discriminates presence or absence of acoustic anisotropy of the material according to the sound speed ratio or STB sound speed ratio.
