PURPOSE:To obtain a fine spherical sintered compact having high heat conductivity by blending grains obtained by spraying and drying a slurry obtained by blending AlN powder with a sintering assistant and a dispersing medium with BN powder and calcining the blend. CONSTITUTION:A slurry obtained by adding a sintering assistant (e.g. Y2O3 powder having >=99.9% purity and 5mum average grain diameter, a forming assistant (e.g. acrylic resin) of 1-2wt.%, based on total of AlN and the sintering assistant, and a dispersing medium (e.g. toluene) to AlN powder having about 1-2mum average grain diameter with <2% oxygen content and having >=60% concentration is sprayed and dried, granulated and dried to afford grains. Then, 100 pts.wt. of the grains are blended with 1-30 pts.wt. BN powder and the blend is calcined in nitrogen stream at 1700-1950 deg.C to provide the spherical sintered compact having <=1mm grain diameter. |
