PURPOSE:To prevent the loss of data by recovering the data on a faulty part of a magnetic disk based on the data on an ECC disk even though a fault may occur on the magnetic disk which restores the data to be supplied to an IC memory. CONSTITUTION:When the system operation is discontinued, a CPU 2 makes a processor 4 divide a memory 5 into plural pieces so as to secure the capacity equal to that of a magnetic disk 10a. Then the CPU 2 controls the total saving parallel operation. Meanwhile the ECC data calculated by an ECC circuit 8 are stored in am ECC magnetic disk 10b. Then the system operation is started again and the data are loaded into the memory 5 from the disk 10a under the control of the processor 4. In this case, the circuit 8 recovers the data on a defective part with use of the ECC data read out of the disk 10b. |
