The invention concerns an electrically heated glass element which is connected directly to a voltage source which consists first of an area 3 which is coated resistively, which area comprises at least two areas insulated from each other, from between which the resistive coating 3 is removed to form an insulated area 2b between the fields. Fields formed in this way are connected to each other as a series by means of electrodes 4 which are good electrical conductors. The series-connected electrically heated areas are connected to the voltage source by means of connection leads 5 and 6. The electrically heated glass element can be manufactured from all selectively coated types of glass which are available on the market without a voltage transformer being required for the connection. <IMAGE>
