Ozone-carrying solution for sterilisation purposes or a wide range of product processes is made by applying rectangular AC pulses, separated by gaps, to each of one or more pairs of electrodes (2,2') separated from each other in the body of solution. At least one side of the electrodes is made of thin strip, such strip may be interconnected to form flat netting surfaces separated from each other by 0.01-2 mm. Electrodes are mounted on a porous substrate (5), or may be separated by insulators (15). Alternative electrolytes to water include H2SO4, HBF4, H3PO4 or other liquid with higher electrical conductivity.
