PURPOSE: To obtain an antifungal gel preparation comprising the mixture of an imidazole antifungal medicine with a 17-ester steroid antiinflammatory medicine, a specific solvent mixture, and a gelling agent, excellent in stability, having a high skin penetration rate, and enhanced in the supply of the active ingredient to a target site. CONSTITUTION: This antifungal gel preparation comprises (A) A1 : 0.2-2wt.% of an imidazole antifungal medicine (e.g. sulconazole nitrate) and A2 : 0.01-2.5wt.% of a 17-ester steroid antiinflammatory medicine (e.g. 11- hydrocortisone-17-valerate), (B) 0-20wt.% of water, (C) C1 : 30-65wt.% of a lower alkanol (preferably isopropanol, ethanol) and C2 : 0-45wt.% of a dihydroxyalcohol and/or 0-40wt.% of a trihydroxyalcohol, and (D) 0.1-5wt.% of a gelling agent selected from hydroxypropyl cellulose and hydroxyethyl cellulose, and has a pH of 3-5, when water is present. The gel preparation is further compounded with a skin-softening agent in an amount of up to 30wt.% and a preservative in an effective amount.
