PURPOSE:To obtain an oriented polyester film in which voids are difficultly formed at the interface between the inert particle and the polyester and which is excellent in transparency, slip and abrasion resistance by mixing a polyester substantially free from inert particles with a specified thermoplastic resin to which the inert particles are added during its polymerization. CONSTITUTION:An oriented polyester film comprising a polyester substantially free from inert particles and a thermoplastic resin to which the inert particles are added during its polymerization, wherein the glass transition temperature of the thermoplastic resin is below that of the above polyester, and the thermoplastic resin is contained in an amount of 0.1-10wt.% based on the polyester. As the inert particles, calcium carbonate, silicic anhydride or aluminum oxide is desirable. The thermoplastic resin is not particularly limited, and a polyester, a polyamide, a polyurethane, a polyesteramide and a polyester urethane well compatible with the polyester are desirable. |
