PURPOSE:To prepare the title compsn. improved in mechanical strengths, rigidity, and resistance to creep and chlorine water and useful esp. as the material of a joint in warm water piping by compounding a poly-1-butene resin, (glass fibers, and a modified propylene resin. CONSTITUTION:1-Butene is (co)polymerized, if necessary, with up to 20mol% other 2-20C alpha-olefin, to give a poly-1-butene resin having a melt flow rate of 0.01-50g/10min and a ratio of the wt.-average to the number average mol.wt. of 2-15. 100 pts.wt. mixture of 60-95 pts.wt. resulting resin with 5-40 pts.wt. glass fibers pref. a chopped strand having a diameter of 6-15mum and a length of 2-7 mm is compounded with 0.1-10 pts.wt. modified propylene resin obtd. by graft copolymerizing 0.05-8wt.% graft monomer onto a propylene polymer. |
