Prodn. of a concentrate of coagulation factor V from a blood plasma (or fraction) contg. an anticoagulant, comprises first adding a divalent metal salt (I) to provide a concn. below that equiv. to the anticoagulant, then recovering the concentrate conventionally. (I) is a Ca salt, esp. the chloride or acetate, added to at least 2mM. Anticoagulants are citrate, heparin, phosphate-dextran and/or citrate-dextran, nost pref. hepairn opt mixed with a citrate salt.
