The portable computer consists of a case, a module part mounted in the case and a keyboard. The entire computer apart from the keyboard is contained in the module part housing. The module part is pivotably suspended. It is pivoted and stopped by a combined spring and damper element (2) and is locked in the deployed position by a slot (3) and bolt (15) arrangement. USE/ADVANTAGE - The portable computer is integrated into a case so that the combination can perform the functions of both a case or 'portable office', e.g. with a printer, modem connector, notebook, etc., and a computer.
