PURPOSE:To provide this image filing device with both characteristics, i.e. holding of picture quality and filing adaptability, by making the data compressing processing methods of the 1st and 2nd areas different from each other, applying data compressing processing to image data and storing and recording the compressed image data. CONSTITUTION:When a radiation image is divided into the 1st and 2nd areas, reversible compression processing is applied to image data corresponding to the 1st area, non-reversible compressing processing is applied to image data corresponding to the 2nd area and both the compressed data are combined to form compressed image data S2. The data S2 are transferred to a system control part 42 together with patient information S3 and photographing information S4 transferred from a radiation image information recorder/reader 10 together with image data S1. The data S2 inputted to the control part 42 are accumulatively recorded an optical disk 67 to be driven by an optical disk unit 64 together with both the information S3,S4. Consequently, effective picture quality can be held and both the filing adaptability and picture quality can be satisfied. |
