PURPOSE:To decide the meandering of a belt and perform control by detecting the width of a slit opening formed in the belt and performing comparative arithmetic. CONSTITUTION:When the belt begins to meander, the slit which passes through the detection area of a slit detection sensor 5 shifts in opening position. Therefore, the time of a slit width signal is time counted according to the detection signal of the sensor 5 and compared with a reference value stored previously in a reference slit width signal storage means to decide that there is a difference from the reference value and the belt meanders. Further, it can be known whether the belt meanders to the left or right from whether the difference from the reference value is plus or minus. |
