In a process for supplying or processing washing water for washing installations for vehicles, the contaminated water in a water-preparation or purification installation passes through at least one mud separator (1) and at least one oil separator (2), which separate gas and mineral oil in floating form or in droplet form, into at least one buffer container (3) from which the water for the washing operation is withdrawn and the contaminated water undergoes filtration during processing. According to the invention, the water from the buffer container undergoes fine filtration (5), without the use of flocculation agents, in particular salts, to filter out the floating oil-laden dirt particles or the floating oil particles mixed with dirt, before it is used for washing operations. The water so filtered, which still contains the essentially stably emulsified residual oil constituents, is used, in particular directly, for washing operations, or in automatic washing machines or installations. At least one washing operation, preferably the preliminary wash and/or main wash, is carried out with this filtered water. |
