Urethra prosthesis device - holds open duct after operative widening

A tube is used which is pref. of elastic material, with a dia. exceeding that of a normal male urethra, being on average 26 Charriere. The tube (2) has a section (1) of its wall which is essentially thinner than the remainder. One end of the tube (3) is inclined, and the whole of it has partial or total incisions. The prosthesis is positioned using an endoscopic shaft in which it is compressed and then discharged at the site of the operatively widened urethra. USE - In occlusive male urinary problems, to hold open an operatively widened urethra.
