The invention concerns a liquid reservoir (10) especially for vehicle windscreen-washing systems, the washing liquid being pumped out of the reservoir by a pump which is mounted on the reservoir (10) and which is connected to a pipe (29) projecting into the reservoir (10). The reservoir closure bung (42), whose position is determined by that of the pipe (29), automatically closes the hole which is formed when the pipe (29) is pulled out of the reservoir (10), thus preventing liquid from escaping.
