The electronic multiplier circuit has a decimal point shift register. The first input or multiplicand is automatically terminated with a decimal point if it does not contain one. The combined decimal point and shift register control circuit (60) contains no pulse counter. The combined circuit contains 4 potential-storage-flip-flops (51,54), only 7 AND circuits (55-59,61,62), each with 2 inputs, and two OR circuits (63,64), each with 2 inputs. Alternatively it can contain other components with an equal number of outputs and the same drive functionality. USE/ADVANTAGE - The circuit is developed by the addition of a special decimal point and shift register control circuit which provides all shift register clock drives.
