The packaging unit contains an inner sealed bag for pasty or liq. material. The bag is contained in a support erected along fold lines, and a seal is provided for the filler aperture. With the package (1) in its flat state the support (3) comprises two layers of material one above the other, and contains six parallel fold lines, with two outer ones (7a) joining them together. The fold lines (7b) in between enclose the side sections of each layer. Each side section has a protruding top or bottom flap (9,10) at its other edges (14), protruding outwards in the flat state. The support and inner bag (2) are enclosed by a separate, outer, water-tight bag (4), extending as far as the filler aperture (5). When flat, the outer bag extends over the edges to which the flaps are attached, for roughly half their spacing when erected.
