The two arm rests (4) of the convertible chair bed are each mounted by a swivel fitment (5) to fold down against the end face (2a) of the upholstered padded element (2) in order to extend the couch surface of the latter. The swivel fitment (5) thereby holds each arm rest (4) drawn out at least in the unfolded bed position against the padded element (2) which forms the seat and couch surface. The swivel fitment for each arm rest can be mounted on the two opposite long sides of the support frame. ADVANTAGE - There is a uniform soft transition between the couch unit and arm rests.
