<p>This burner, esp. for use with metallurgical furnaces enables liquid combustible to be intimately mixed with oxygen. It has a division and pulverisation device situated at the exit for the combustible so that the liquid is in a pulverised and very thin state at the point where mixing takes place. The device consists of a cylindrical jet whose cylindrical surface has a number of spiral grooves and whose transverse face facing upwards is fitted with a distribution cone which facilitates the flow of liquid in the direction of the grooves. On the other side of the jet is a distributer whose internal profile is composed of a part converging from top to bottom, a cylindrical collar and a diverging part.</p> |
