<p>Screening drum is for the heat-treatment, i.e. drying or fibre-fixing, of textiles and is particularly suitable for cable consisting of endless synthetic fibres. The drum appliance is well-ventilated and designed to avoid knees becoming established in the cable and to prevent cable slipping off the drum casing. It has a sieve-like endless conveyor belt passing around part of the periphery of the drum, but spaced from it so as to leave an annular gap in which the cable is radially aligned in layers. Pref. a cable-feeding hopper is positioned perpendicularly above the drum and tangential to it.</p> |
