USE OF SOLUTIONS OR DISPERSIONS OF RESINS IN THE SURFACE TREATMENT OF POLYMER FIBRES

The processibility of polymer fibres, in particular aramid fibres, was to be improved. This became possible by using solutions or dispersions of resins in an organic solvent containing - 0.2 - 20% by weight of at least one polyamide resin based on long- chain branched dicarboxylic acids which has terminal carboxylic and/or amino groups, - 0.02 - 10% by weight of a compatible copolymer which contains carboxylic acid and/or anhydride groups and also carboxylic esters,, - 0 - 5% by weight of further auxiliaries and also - ad 100% by weight of organic solvent for the surface treatment of polymer fibres.
