VEHICLE COLLISION WARNING INDICATOR

A radar module fitted to a moving vehicle senses both the range and relative speed of vehicles approaching from behind. The electrical signal containing both range and relative speed information is processed by a small computer. The range is given by the signal amplitude, and the speed by its frequency. The information is compared to the recommended speed/ stopping distance data which is stored in the computer. The result of the comparison controls the activation of visual/audible alarms at the output of the system. The system runs continuously from 'power-up'.
