PURPOSE:To suppress such a phenomenon that a recording membrane material moves along a guide groove by pulsation accompanied by the repetition of recording and erasure by adding nitrogen to a recording film formed from a composition of Te 53.2, Ge 21.3 and Sb 25.5. CONSTITUTION:A disk substrate 1 composed of a resin substrate of polycarbonate or the like is a resin substrate to which a laser beam guiding groove is preliminarily formed or a glass plate to which a groove is formed by a 2P method. The first dielectric layer 2 is composed of a mixed film of ZnS-SiO2 and a recording membrane layer 3 is composed of a composition of Te 53.2, Ge 21.3 and Sb 25.5 and the second dielectric layer 4 is constituted of the same material as the first dielectric layer 2. A reflecting layer 5 is composed of a material based on Al and a protective plate 6 is bonded to the disk substrate 1 by an adhesive 7. Recording, erasure and regeneration are performed by irradiating the recording medium thus obtained with laser beam subjected to emphasis modulation corresponding to data in the direction shown by an arrow or detecting the reflected beam. The dielectric layers, the recording membrane layer and the reflecting layer are generally formed by a vacuum deposition method or a sputtering method.
