TRANSFER SHEET FOR THERMAL TRANSFER RECORDING

PURPOSE:To improve the uniformity of a recording image, medium contrast recording and full-color recording by forming a receiving layer composed of a vinyl chloride/vinyl acetate copolymer on the undercoat layer provided on a support composed of a pulp sheet. CONSTITUTION:An aqueous emulsion of a copolymer resin soluble in an org. solvent and containing vinyl chloride in its composition is applied to at least the single surface of a support composed of a pulp sheet in an amount of 5g/m<2> or more to provide an undercoat layer. Subsequently, a coating solution containing a vinyl chloride/vinyl acetate copolymer as a resin component and prepared by dissolving said copolymer in an org. solvent is applied to the undercoat layer in an amount of 2g/m<2> or more to laminate a receiving layer to form a transfer sheet for thermal transfer recording. A silicone polyester resin is pref. compounded with the receiving layer for the purpose of the evil of the heat fusion between an ink sheet and the receiving layer becoming a problem in a thermal recording system using a sublimable dye as a colorant.
