PURPOSE:To provide a highly conc. developer dispersion excellent in long-term storage stability and having manufacturing aptitude by using alkyl modified polyvinyl alcohol as a dispersant. CONSTITUTION:A developer is dissolved in an org. solvent to be emulsified in water in the presence of a dispersant and the org. solvent is removed to prepare a developer dispersion. In this method, alkyl modified polyvinyl alcohol is used as the dispersant. Alkyl modified polyvinyl alcohol is one wherein the terminal of a polymer chain is modified by an alkyl group and the alkyl group may be a straight chain one or may have a side chain or may be a mixture with other modifier. Other water-soluble polymer such as polyvinyl alcohol can be also together used. Alkyl modified polyvinyl alcohol is used within the range of 0.1-3.0% by wt. of the developer to be emulsified and, as the org. solvent dissolving the developer, toluene and xylene are especially pref. The developer is dissolved in the org. solvent in an amount of 10-200wt.%, pref., 30-150wt.%. |
