<p>1284936 Anti-theft devices JOSEF VOSS KG 15 Aug 1969 [17 Aug 1968] 40889/69 Heading B7J [Also in Division E2] A steering-column lock, comprises a barrel 4 rotatable within a lock cylinder 2 in a lock housing 1 having an extension 17 to which is secured an electric switch housing 22 a bolt 16 being slidable in a channel defined by the housings. The bolt is urged to locking position by a spring 19 and is slidable in a groove 18 in the extension 17 and in a trough 24 in the switch housing 22. The bolt has a hook-shaped end 15, which engages a cam surface 14 on a cam 13 secured to the lock barrel whereby on turning the barrel by a key 3 the bolt is withdrawn. A spring urged retaining member 26 pivoting on a pin 28 slidable in a recess in the lock cylinder engages a recess 33 in the bolt to retain the bolt in the withdrawn position. The bolt is projected after the key is withdrawn in the "stop" position which permits the end 31 of the retaining member 26 to enter the key slot and the detent to disengage the recess 33. The lock has two rows of tumblers whereby the key is withdrawable also in the "garage" position in which the bolt is withdrawn. The cam 13 has a member 25 which projects into the switch housing and operates the switch rotor therein when the barrel rotates. The switch housing is screwed to the lock housing and has shoulders with which lugs on the extension 17 engage. The assembly may be used as an ignition switch and steering column lock.</p> |
