1284463 Knitting ELITEX ZAVODY TEXTILNIHO STROJIRENSTVI GENERALNI REDITELSTVI 24 Oct 1969 [31 Oct 1968] 52160/69 Headings D1C and D1K A run-resistant course is knit on a superposed cylinder, preferably multi-feed machine as follows. Alternate needles a take and knit a main yarn 22 and an auxiliary, preferably stretch, yarn 23. Floats of the two yarns are formed over sinkers 8, and loop-holding instruments 15 in the lower and upper cylinders respectively. Interveening needles b take and similarly knit main and auxiliary yarns 24, 25 again forming floats alternating with those previously formed. The instruments now push the held floats outwards and all the needles a, b rise to take and knit the floats of yarns 25, 23 respectively through the previously knitted loops. The instruments are retracted to release the floats. The arcuate instruments (Fig. 2 not shown) have a ledge (16) to support the held floats. The course is advantageously knit after closing a stocking toe on the machine. |
