<p>PURPOSE:To prevent a decrease in the effective capacity of the purifier and an excessive load on a submersible pump by connecting a backwashing pipe to one outlet of a three-way cock, extending the pipe to the bottom of a catalytic oxidation chamber and providing plural injection ports to the extension. CONSTITUTION:The three-way cock 10 is switched to the water spray nozzle 9 side in the normal operation, and the water from a submersible pump 6 is sprayed from the nozzle 9 and aerated. As a result, sewage is sucked into a catalytic oxidation chamber 2 through a sand basin 1, the sucked water is brought into contact with a filter medium 3, and org. matter is decomposed by biological oxidation. The inclusion, mud, etc., incapable of being oxidized and decomposed are accumulated on the filter medium 3 with time, and the sludge is drawn off by backwashing when the accumulation amounts to a specified quantity. When the cock 10 is switched to the backwashing pipe 11 side, the water from the pump 6 is sprayed upward from the injection ports 13, 13,... of the extension 12 of the backwashing pipe 11, hence the catalytic oxidation chamber 2 is backwashed from its bottom, and the sludge is released from the filter medium 3.</p> |
