PURPOSE:To easily obtain a paper money discrimination system with high accuracy by converting the distinctive print pattern of a paper money to an electrical signal waveform, performing conversion processing to the input pattern of a neural net, and performing discrimination by inputting the pattern to the neural net. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic head 4 scans the prescribed area of the paper money 1 according to the travel of the paper money 1, and since the paper money 1 is printed by using magnetic ink, the light-and-shade level of print on a scanning area can be taken out as the electrical signal waveform. The output of the magnetic head 4 is amplified by an amplifier circuit 5, and furthermore, it is converted to a digital value by an A/D conversion circuit 6, and input to the neural net 8 can be performed in parallel, therefore, the value is stored once in memory 7, and after that, it is inputted to an input processing means 8, and is conversion-processed to the input pattern of the neural net, then, is inputted to the neural net. Thereby, a decision signal representing to which paper money out of plural kinds of patterns learned it corresponds or whether it is a true or a false paper money is outputted, which obtains superior decision accuracy. |
