MANUFACTURE OF PLASTIC CONTAINER MAIN BODY AND OF CONTAINER WITH METAL CAP

PURPOSE:To make it possible to mount a metal cap to a plastic container by a method wherein a container main body with a flange is formed by thermoforming laminated material having polyester resin layer so as to realize the flange having the predetermined thickness and the crystallized polyester resin layer. CONSTITUTION:Plastic laminated material 50 is heated with a heating machine 51 and formed into a formed article 55 consisting of a plurality of container main bodies 11 with molds 52 by means of an ordinary forming method. The cylindrical part 12a of the container main body 11 has enough thickness and strength for withstanding the pressure applied at double spinning and its flange part 13 is heated with heaters 33 and 34 in a punch 21a and in a die 21b so as to perform sure press work. During pressing process, the flange part 13 is heated up to high temperature and whitened. Due to the crystallization of polyethylene terephthalate layer as described above, the heat resistance of the polyethylene terephthalate layer is improved. By cutting off the outer periphery of the flange part 13 and spinning a metal cap 16 to the flange part, a container 10 with the metal cap is manufactured.
