PURPOSE:To prepare a thermally stabilized polyvinyl chloride resin compsn. useful for a sheet, pipe, electric part, etc., by compounding a polyvinyl chloride resin with a metal salt of an org. acid and a saponified ethylene-vinyl said. carboxylate copolymer. CONSTITUTION:A thermally stabilized polyvinyl chloride resin compsn. is prepd. by compounding 100 pts.wt. polyvinyl chloride resin with 0.01-10 pts.wt., pref. 0.1-3 pts.wt., metal salt of an org. acid (e.g. zinc stearate) and 2 pts.wt. saponified ethylene-vinyl satd. carboxylate copolymer which pref. has a content of the vinyl satd. carboxylate, pref. vinyl acetate, of 5-50wt.%, a number average mol.wt. of 800-3000, and a degree of saponification of 20-100%, esp. pref. 40-100%. |
