摘要 |
PURPOSE:To stably obtain an aromatic hydroxide in high selectivity and yield by using a crystalline aluminosilicate containing Ni and Cu as a catalyst in the production of the subject material by the vapor-phase hydrolysis of an aromatic halide. CONSTITUTION:An aromatic hydroxide (e.g. phenol) is produced by hydrolyzing an aromatic halide (e.g. chlorobenzene or bromonaphthalene) in the presence of a catalyst consisting of a crystalline aluminosilicate containing Ni and Cu at 350-500 deg.C in vapor phase. The crystalline aluminosilicate preferably has a structure similar to ZSM-5, ZSM-11 and AZ-1 having a silica/alumina ratio of 10-100. It is preferable from the viewpoints of selectivity and catalyst stability to add 0.1-5wt.% (in terms of Ni metal) of an Ni component and 0.01-0.1wt.% (in terms of Cu metal) of a Cu component to the above catalyst and heat-treat the mixture. |
