PURPOSE:To improve the selectivity of the subject substance by reacting 1,1,2- trichloro-1,2,2-trifluoroethane with H2 in the presence of a catalyst obtained by supporting Pd or Ru and Tl on Al2O3, SiO2 or activated carbon. CONSTITUTION:1-Chloro-1,2,2-trifluoroethylene (3FCl) or 1,2,2-trifluoroethylene (3FH) are produced in one step by reacting 1,1,2-trichloro-1,2,2-trifluoroethane with H2 in the presence of a catalyst at 200-350 deg.C. The catalyst is produced by supporting Pd or Ru and Tl on alumina, silica gel or activated carbon. The molar ratio of the product can be varied by varying the molar ratio of the catalyst components. For example, the selectivity of 3FCl is >=96% at a Tl/Pd ratio of 4 and the production of 3FH becomes dominant (87%) when the ratio is 0.5. |
