Device for gathering up a web of film made of plastic lying on the ground and intended for growing, characterized in that it comprises a framework (6) carried by a vehicle (4); a spindle (8) carried by the framework (6), over which may be slipped a removable mandrel on which the web (2) is tightly wound, this spindle (8) being made of two main axial lengths mounted end to end and coaxially by virtue of removable reciprocal association means; two end flanges (9) in the form of wheels, which are mounted so that they can pivot, and removably, on the framework (6) and are fixed to the free ends of the spindle (8); at least one member (12) for fastening the web (2) onto a pivoting part (8, 9); and means (13) for causing the end flanges (9) to pivot. <IMAGE>
