The field of the invention is that of the design and of the improvement of electrodynamic loudspeakers and membranes for such loudspeakers. According to the invention, the loudspeaker is characterised in that the front suspension of the membrane is fixed to the loudspeaker frame in such a way as to be set in with respect to the front upper plane of the said loudspeaker frame, in such a way that the frontmost portion of the membrane, when it is excited in maximum forward position, at most comes flush with the said upper front plane of the loudspeaker frame.
