NEW MATERIAL:A compound of the formula (R<1> is OH; R<2> is H, or R<1> and R<3> may form an epoxy group). The compound of the formula wherein R<1> is OH and R<2> is H has the following physicochemical properties. Molecular weight: 404; molecular formula: C24H20O6; mass spectrum (EI-MS):m/z 404(M<+>); solubility: soluble in chloroform, dichloromethane and ethyl acetate; slightly soluble in methanol, ethanol, acetone and n-hexane and insoluble in water; coloring reaction: positive to vanillin-sulfuric acid positive to ferric chloride reaction; acidic; quality and color: yellow crystal, etc. USE:An anti-tumor drug. PREPARATION:A strain belonging to the genus Streptomyces such as Streptomyces.species HP 530 strain (FERM BP-2786) is cultured preferably at 30 deg.C for 3-6 days by a deep stirring culture method. |
