PURPOSE:To reduce a message listening time, to eliminate an unpleasant feeling and to improve the utilizing efficiency of a telephone line by eliminating a silence time such as a hesitate time and an operation time at the start of recording and at the end of recording and reducing the silence time such as a consideration time during message recording to a degree not incurring unnaturality. CONSTITUTION:When a recording start command is detected, the presence of a voice signal is checked. A silence period from the detection of a recording start command till the first voice signal detection is not stored in a storage section 4. When the absence of the voice signal is detected in the stage of storing a voice message to the storage section 4, the silence period till the presence of a voice signal is checked and when the period is at a prescribed time or over, the time is converted into the prescribed time and when the period is within the prescribed time, the signal is converted into a silence code data and a silence time data and they are stored in the storage section 4, and when a recording end command is detected, a series of storage operation is finished. |
