The cell (1) for cutaneous exchanges with which it is possible to collect on the skin at least one compound to be assayed, by circulation of a suitable liquid, consists of a compartment, one of the walls of which is formed by the skin when the cell is in operation. The compartment is formed by a conduit (3) of length L, between a conduit (5) for supply of liquid and a conduit (8) for removal of the liquid, the surface formed by the skin during the functioning of the cell being at least equal to 0.70 S, and its length L is greater than or equal to 4 x l, S being the minimum surface delimited by an envelope curve of the said conduit taken as a whole, and l being the length of the said envelope curve of the surface S.
