1286919 Anti - seborrhoeic compositions L'OREAL 7 Aug 1970 [8 Aug 1969] 38276/70 Heading A5B [Also in Divisions C5 and Dl] Anti-seborrhoeic compositions comprise (a) a compound of formula: in which X is Cl or Br and n is 2 or 3 and (b) a carrier, the pH being 3-7 when compound I is present and 7-8 when compound II is present. Compounds specified are: #-aminoethyl isothiouronium chloride hydrochloride, #-aminoethyl isothiouronium bromide hydrobromide andγ-aminopropyl isothiouronium chloride hydrochloride. The carrier may be water or aqueous alcohol. The composition may also include a resin, colouring matter and/ or a perfume. It may be a hair setting or styling lotion, cream or gel. Ingredients specified in the Examples are: dimethylhydantoinformaldehyde resin, dimethyl-dilaurylammonium chloride, polyvinyl pyrrolidone, vinyl acetate-acrylic acid copolymer, 1-aminopropylamino-anthraquinone, picramic acid, 4-(N-γ- aminoproplamino)-1-(N'methylamino) anthraquinone, triethanolamine, perfume, ethanol and water.
