The present invention provides a detergent composition comprising: (a) at least about 1 % of a polyhydroxy fatty acid amide of formula (I) wherein R<1> is H, C1-C4 hydrocarbyl, 2-hydroxy ethyl, 2-hydroxy propyl, or a mixture thereof, R<2> is a C5-C31 hydrocarbyl, and Z is a polyhydroxyhydrocarbyl having a linear hydrocarbyl chain with at least 3 hydroxyls connected directly to said chain, or an alkoxylated derivative thereof; (b) at least about 1 % of a detersive surfactant, other than said polyhydroxy fatty acid amide, selected from anionic and nonionic detersive surfactants; and (c) at least about 0.5 % of a polymeric dispersing agent selected from polycarboxylate and/or polyethylene glycol polymers. |
